Japanese tattoo in Palma
Koi, dragons, masks and flowers with solid composition and real presence. Danielo designs every Japanese piece to order in central Palma.
What is Japanese tattooing?
Japanese tattooing, also known as irezumi, is one of the most traditional styles in the world. You can spot it by its bold lines, solid colours and backgrounds of wind, water or clouds that tie the whole design together. If you're looking for a Japanese tattoo in Palma, think of pieces designed to flow with the body, where the main motif and the background form one powerful composition. It has its own rules, and respecting them is what makes a piece work.
Each motif has its own character. The koi is often linked to perseverance, the dragon to strength and protection, the tiger to courage, the hannya mask to intense emotions and cherry blossoms to the fleeting nature of life. You don't have to follow the meaning to the letter, but knowing it helps you choose. What matters is that the design feels like you and is well built from start to finish.
It's a style that needs space: arms, sleeves, legs, chest or back are ideal, because the design follows the muscles and reads well from a distance. Medium standalone pieces with one motif and some background work too. Larger projects take several sessions, so if you're visiting Mallorca, tell us how long you're staying and we'll plan a piece that fits your trip. Back home, you can always add to it over the years.

Good to know before starting a Japanese-style piece.
How much does a Japanese tattoo cost?
It depends on the size, placement, level of detail and number of sessions. A koi on the forearm and a full back piece are very different projects. Message us on WhatsApp with your idea, the placement and a rough size, and Danielo will send you a free, no-obligation quote, plus advice on how to split the sessions for larger pieces.
How many sessions will I need?
A medium piece can be finished in one or two sessions. Sleeves, back pieces or full legs need several, usually a few weeks apart so the skin can recover. The outline normally comes first, then colour and background. If you're only on the island for a short stay, we'll suggest a size that can be done while you're here.
How do I look after it in the Mallorca sun?
Wash with water and mild soap, apply a thin layer of cream and don't scratch or pick at it. Stay out of the sun, the sea, pools and saunas until it's healed. For colour pieces, high SPF afterwards is essential to keep the tones bright. If you have health concerns or an unusual reaction, check with your doctor.
Do I need to know what each motif means?
It's not essential, but it helps. In Japanese tradition each motif, background and flower carries a meaning, and combining them well gives the piece coherence. If you'd like, Danielo will walk you through the options and suggest a combination that matches what you want to express, without losing the visual punch of the style.
